🎛️ Advanced Settings & Integrations
The Settings dashboard is the main control center for Vaaniz. Here, you can configure your hardware (printers and card readers), secure your app, set up loyalty programs, and ensure your data is safely backed up.
To access these features, tap the Settings gear icon from your main navigation menu.
1. Connectivity & Staff Access
If you are using Vaaniz in "Server Mode" (Cloud Sync), this section allows you to manage who has access to your shop.
- Staff Management: Tap this to go to the Staff Dashboard, where you can add new cashiers or managers and control their permissions. (Note: You must be logged in as an Admin to access this).
- Server Connection (Adding Devices): * To add a new phone or tablet to your shop, tap Share Server QR Code.
- A large QR code will appear on your screen. You can either let your staff scan it directly from their device, or tap Save PDF to print and share it with your team.
2. Loyalty Program & SMS Verification
Turn one-time buyers into regular customers by rewarding them for their purchases.
- Enable Reward Points: Turn this ON to start tracking customer spending.
- Spend Amount & Point Value: Define your ratio. For example: If Spend Amount is 100 and 1 Point Value is 1, the customer earns ₹1 (or $1) in store credit for every ₹100 they spend.
- SMS Verification (High Security): If you want to ensure customers verify their identity via a text message before redeeming points, turn this ON.
- For Indian Users: You must enter your DLT-approved details. Provide your SMS Provider's API URL, Auth Key, Sender ID (e.g., TXSHOP), and Template ID.
- For US/Global Users: Enter your Twilio or Vonage credentials, including your Account SID, Auth Token, and registered From Phone Number.
3. Hardware & Printing
Card Reader (Stripe Terminal)
(Note: This feature is currently available for users outside of India). Process tap-to-pay and credit card transactions seamlessly using physical Bluetooth card readers.
- Toggle Enable Stripe Terminal to ON.
- Turn on your physical card reader and ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
- Tap Search for Readers.
- Select your reader from the list to connect. Once connected, Vaaniz will automatically route card payments to this device during checkout!
Printing Configuration
Choose exactly how you want to hand receipts to your customers.
- Bill Format: * Share PDF: Generates a digital, A4-style receipt that you can instantly share via WhatsApp, Email, or standard Wi-Fi printers.
- Thermal: Connects directly to Bluetooth thermal receipt printers.
- Label Dimensions: If you print barcode stickers from the Inventory tab, define the exact Width and Height (in mm) of your sticker rolls here.
4. App Security
Protect your sensitive business data, especially if you share a device with staff or leave it unattended.
- App Lock (PIN): Toggle this ON to create a secure 4-digit PIN. Vaaniz will require this PIN every time the app is opened or brought back from the background.
- Biometrics (FaceID / Fingerprint): Once your PIN is set, turn this ON to unlock the app instantly using your phone's native facial recognition or fingerprint scanner.
5. Data Management & Backups
Never lose a single invoice or product. Vaaniz gives you multiple ways to protect your data.
Google Drive Auto-Backup (Recommended)
- Tap Connect Google Drive and log in securely with your Google account.
- Once connected, toggle Auto-Backup to Drive ON. Vaaniz will now silently encrypt and save your data to your personal cloud in the background.
- You can also tap Sync Now to force an immediate backup.
Manual Local Backup
- Manual Backup: Tap this to download your entire database as a highly compressed
.jsonfile to your phone's storage. You can email this file to yourself for safekeeping. - Restore Data: Bought a new phone? Tap this, select your
.jsonbackup file, and Vaaniz will instantly restore your entire shop exactly as you left it. (Warning: This will overwrite any existing data on the current device).
6. Logging Out
If you need to switch accounts, tap the red Log Out / Switch Account button at the bottom of the screen.
🔒 Privacy Protection: For your security, logging out will instantly wipe all cached business data (sales, inventory, customers) from the physical device. The data remains safe on your Cloud Server, but it prevents unauthorized users from opening the app and viewing offline data.
