⚙️ Shop Configuration & Settings

Welcome to your Shop Setup! Vaaniz is designed to adapt to your specific business model. Whether you run a retail pharmacy, a wholesale electronics distribution center, or a local supermarket, this screen allows you to tailor the app perfectly to your needs.

You can access these settings at any time by navigating to the Settings menu in the app.


1. Region, Currency & Tax Settings

Vaaniz supports businesses globally, with specialized features for India and the United States.

  • Select Country: Choose between India (₹) or the United States ($). This automatically configures your default tax system (GST for India, Sales Tax for the US) and adjusts formatting.
  • Enable Tax: Turn this on if you are a registered business required to collect tax.
  • Tax Inclusive Pricing: This is a crucial setting for how your prices are calculated!
    • Turned ON (Inclusive): If you sell an item for ₹100, the tax is already included inside that ₹100. (Common in retail/B2C).
    • Turned OFF (Exclusive): If you sell an item for ₹100, the tax will be calculated and added on top at checkout. (Common in wholesale/B2B).

Smart Address Detection

To save you time, Vaaniz features smart Pincode/Zip Code detection. Simply enter your 6-digit Pincode (India) or 5-digit Zip Code (US), and the app will automatically detect and fill in your City and State.


2. Brand Identity & Contact Info

Your invoice is a reflection of your brand. Let's make it look professional.

  • Shop Logo: Tap the image icon to upload your store's logo from your phone gallery.
  • Upload Signature: Tap the signature icon to upload a photo of your official stamp or signature. This will automatically print at the bottom of your invoices, making them legally compliant without manual signing.
  • Shop Name & Address: Fill in your official business details as you want them to appear to customers.

3. Invoice Print Customization

You have total control over what your customer sees on their printed or PDF receipt.

Use the toggles in this section to show or hide the following details on your final invoice:

  • Shop Logo
  • Shop Name & Full Address
  • City & State
  • Phone Number & Email
  • GSTIN / State Tax ID
  • Payment Method (e.g., Cash, UPI, Card)
  • Official Signature

💡 Pro Tip: If you use narrow Thermal Printers, turning off the "Logo" and "Full Address" toggles can save valuable paper space while keeping the receipt looking clean.


4. Advanced Business Preferences

Every business operates differently. Toggle these features on or off depending on your daily operations:

  • Default Customer Type (B2C vs B2B): * Choose B2C (Retail) for fast, walk-in customer checkouts.
    • Choose B2B (Wholesale) if you primarily sell to other businesses and need to record their Tax IDs and business names by default.
  • Enable Wholesale Pricing: Turns on a secondary pricing tier. You can set a "Retail MRP" and a special "Wholesale Price" for the same product.
  • Enable Batch/Expiry Management: Crucial for Pharmacies, FMCG, and Grocery stores. This allows you to track multiple batches of the same product and warns you before items expire.
  • Enable Rack Location: Great for large warehouses. This lets you note exactly where an item is stored (e.g., "Aisle 4, Shelf B") so your staff can find it quickly during checkout.
  • Enable Product Description: Adds an extra field for detailed product specs (e.g., warranty terms, serial numbers, or dimensions).

5. E-Way Bill Integration (India Only)

(Note: If you do not see this section, ensure you have selected 'India' and turned 'Enable Tax' ON).

Vaaniz allows you to generate official Government E-Way Bills directly from the app with a single click, saving you the hassle of logging into the NIC portal for every dispatch.

To protect your GSTIN legally, you must first authorize our registered GSP (GST Suvidha Provider) on the government portal.

How to setup the Government Portal:

  1. Login to the official government portal: ewaybillgst.gov.in.
  2. From the main dashboard, navigate to RegistrationFor GSP.
  3. Verify your email/phone and click Send OTP.
  4. Click Add/New and select Tera Software Limited from the dropdown list.
  5. Create a 3-character Username suffix (e.g., ABC) and a secure 15-character Password.

Connecting to Vaaniz:

Once you have created your credentials on the government site:

  1. Come back to the Vaaniz App.
  2. Toggle Enable Direct E-Way Bills to ON.
  3. Enter the API Username and Password you just created.
  4. Tap Test NIC Portal Login.

If the credentials are correct, you will see a "Connection Successful" message, and you are officially ready to generate E-Way Bills directly from your checkout screen!


Once you have adjusted all your settings, tap Save Configuration at the bottom of the screen. Vaaniz will securely save your preferences to the cloud and sync them across all your staff devices.
